Cool, cool, make your own concert tickets

I can never seem to get my hands on concert tickets when I need them, but this is a neat way to promote your group on your website. You can create your own concert ticket image to promote your next gig, or the gig you want to get, if you dare.

Of course, you can even pay to get hard copies of these ticket images as either stickers or magnets, or, once you get the image, I'm sure only your imagination is the limit!

Here is one I just made up. Took 40 seconds to create:

 

From a technical standpoint, this is really easy to create, but Kudos to the people who came up with it to make it easy!

Doing a Demo and Your Brand

RockStar Daughter is going to be doing a demo this fall. Just getting started, and I'm trying to help her figure out what her brand or story is...

Found this link to an interesting article about KISS branding. (However, read the comments to this post, they are good.)

Now, one thing we know, a KISS-like image is not for her, and, of course, I prefer wholesome and won't tolerate sleeze ala Paris Hilton (besides RockStar Daughter couldn't pull that off anyhow) -- but is there room in rock for "vulnerable "nice" teenage girl who feels things intensely and sings about sorrow and joy?"

She wrote two killer songs this summer that really exposed the pain she had been feeling for quitting her old band. None of them have heard it yet. I guess she is living the quote from the Brandbuilder blog:

Nothing kills authenticity faster than fear. Fear of looking bad. Fear of failure. Fear of embarrassment. Fear of rejection. Fear of making your mark - which is what a brand does, by the way. It isn't just a logo on the door. It's a flag you firmly plant atop every hill you concquer.

Pandora

Hey, how many people do you think have tried Pandora? Just looked at it this evening. If I can get my Rock Star Daughter off of myspace, I'll see how she likes this thing. Although, I'm not sure how well they have mapped out small genres yet.

Absolutely, love, love the name, "Pandora" and the tagline, "created by the Music Genome Project."

Would love to hear other people's thoughts... Now, if this thing could go local, that would be very cool...
